Misdemeanor Prosecution

Misdemeanor crimes are considered less serious than felony crimes. They are lower degree crimes like petty theft, simple assaults, driving with alcohol, traffic violations, and public nuisance.

Misdemeanors are prosecuted in County Court. See County Court locations.
Prosecutors in County Court assigned have contact with a large and diverse segment of the community due to the large volume and nature of cases. With consideration for crime and circumstances

An effort is made to reach a resolution in every case by taking the crime into consideration, the individual involved, and the prevailing community standards.
