[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Victims’ Rights Week is April 18-24, 2021. This is a time for us to remember crime victims and survivors and honor those who have gone above and beyond in their work with victims. This year’s theme is “Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities.”


This year the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office had a virtual Victims Rights Week award ceremony. The office honored these people for their service to victims:

• Career District Attorney Victim Advocate: Jenni Schaffer
• Career Prosecutor: Chief Deputy District Attorney Chris Gallo
• Career District Attorney Investigator: Tom Malone
• Career District Attorney Support Staff: Paralegal Rachel Kenick
• Outstanding Law Enforcement Victim Advocate: Nancy Wenig from Englewood Police
• Outstanding Nonprofit : SungateKids
• Outstanding Volunteer Service: Clara Shelton from MADD Colorado
• Dedication to Victims in the 18th, Career Service: Former District Attorney George Brauchler
